I Cried.
I cried.
You were born
And I held you for hours.
I cried.
I cried.
I had everything to give
And you tried so hard to live
But your life just ebbed away
Like water through a sieve.
I cried.
I cried,
And I thought
I’ll never see you play
I’ll never see you laugh,
I’ll never see the day
When you
‘I love you Mummy’ say.
I cried.
I was forced to submit
And I have to admit
That I wonder,
Who are you,
and
Did heaven adopt you?
Will I finally meet you,
Recognise you,
Embrace you,
And understand that you are
Infinitely innocent
Infinitely perfect
Infinitely creative
A child of God?
Will we forget the sacrifice,
Will you show me paradise,
Will God eternal be our staff
While we’ll cry and praise
And laugh?
